Premier team beat Dolphins convincingly

Premier team got a shock in the morning that skipper Wafa got into an accident and is hospitalised. We were in a state of shock and were contemplating not playing the game. After getting to know that he is relatively ok, we thought its better to go play and win it for him as that is what he always want from us. And did we win, oh yes, we won emphatically.

Start wasn’t ideal as we were a player short and were put into field by Dolphins. It took us a while to get our composure, by then we had already dropped about 3 chances. But they didn’t prove too costly as we had Dolphins 30/2. After that though middle order consolidated and took the score to 92 before 3rd wicket fell. Waheed Raza and Taj Pawar batted positively. Waheed fell LBW to Pankaj and after that Dolphins never recovered and lost 8 wickets for 50 runs to be all out for 142. Priyank, leading for the first time, led from front with the ball and took 4 wickets.

We bowled Dolphins out in 40 overs so openers had to go back in and deal with a tricky 8 over period. Kevin Singh and Saqib Khoso did well to get us to 37 without loss before the lunch break. After the lunch break they started from where they had left and gave no sniff to Dolphins bowlers. Dolphins tried 8 bowlers in all to get these guys out but Saqib and Kevin were determined to finish the game. They had an unbeaten 143 runs partnership. Saqib scored 75* and Kevin finally made a fifty, remained not out at 55. Kevin showed some glimpse of a batsman he could be. Saqib is hopefully back as he has been struggling quite a bit this season. Hope to see these guys score lot more runs this season.

Both the batsmen and the team dedicated this win to Wafa, hoping for his speedy recovery!
